Interact

Yesterday i went with my brother to the Decode exhibition at the V&A,

Check out the second row down, second square in from the left, for an idea of how happy this piece and the exhibition made me!

Well worth a look if you get the chance, for something which is both thought provoking and fun!

Helping Hands

Last week i got the chance to help out at the YCN for a few days, as they put the finishing touches to their end of year annual. Sticker packing aplenty took place amongst other things including dishing out some rather dubiously named 'Glogg' mulled wine at their
'My two front teeth' christmas shop opening evening!

The photo above is from their Twitter account, with my tartan clad arm in action putting together the Sticker packs!

Cheers to the YCN for having me!

Sorry, You Were Out

Brief- 'Post', Self initiated

Linked Brief-

More and more i come down stairs to find a 'Sorry, You Were Out', Form by my door as a pose to the post i anticipated.
These days it seems like i am more likely to find a 'Sorry, You Were Out', note by my door than my post, postmen seem to find them the easy delivery option. I have heard that some postman don't like the idea of carrying alot of post and so sneak 'Sorry..' notes through postboxes so they don't have to!

Below is an edited 'Sorry, You Were Out', Form, I submitted to Mail Me Art, with correct address and  an 'id number' leading to my blog. The idea is, what is the point in spending time on a letter if it wont arrive? These 'Sorry..' notes  which usually lead to a drawn out journey to the sorting office and phone call etc,  lead to my work straight there and then - Much easier for everyone.

I stamped and posted it - i hope the post actually send it!

Brief: 'Locally Connected', Commissioned

I was recently commissioned by The Newspaper Society to complete a short edit of some footage about Locally Connected - I haven't really had the chance to utilise Final Cut for a while so it was great time to hone my skills!

The Golden Half

I was recently given a camera called, 'The Golden Half', a half size format camera which produces 72 images from a 36 exposure roll.

The great thing about it is you can use it to create a narrative in the images, when the two are placed together as one.

It is even more interesting when two images which weren't planned to come together, end up appearing together, creating unexpected narratives!

Lie Down I Think I Love You

Brief: Create a short introduction to a documentary about London brand 'Lie Down I Think I Love You'
and their process of handbag making.

I was asked by a friend to produce an animated sting to accompany a documentary he was producing about Lie Down I Think I Love You.

The animation aims to keep in touch with many of the key brand values namely, them using vintage scarves, which are then combined with other materials instore to create bespoke handbags.

The imagery is made up of multiple layers - ink and pencil on paper, liquid eyeliner on acetate, Real Cotton, Thin metal, paper cuttings and digital type.

-I forgot how much work has to go into even a short animation!
